Felt The Need
Back with a new label, Nika D, of Manchester's Virus Syndicate, teams up with Parisian beatmaker DJ Absurd to bring a track filled with all the doom and gloom of the industrial North.
Felt the Need, vocally and visually, provides a commentary of the life of grime associated with Britain's sixth largest city, whilst Absurd's emotional stringed onslaught
The video starts with that all too often city sighting, the club eviction, because Nika rolls into aggression and angst filled lyrics, broken with a spooky, almost mounrful but perversely pleasurable female voiced chorus.
The video may not be original, but it's definitely more watchable than the average Channel U offering, and compliments the track nicely. Down trodden Mancs, rain soaked cityscapes and night time; what more could you ask for?
The Felt the Need video was produced by Fracture Films under Aphex Recordings, Nika's new label. Also be on the look out for new Virus Syndicate releases in the near future.
Felt the Need is available July 30th, on Aphex Recordings, with remixes from Virus' MRK1.
