Cassie, the first lady of Bad Boy records will release her catchy new single ‘Long Way 2 Go’ on October 23rd. Produced by talented hit-maker Ryan Leslie who has also worked with Britney Spears, Beyoncé and JoJo, the track comes out through Bad Boy/Atlantic Records.
‘Long Way 2 Go’, is the second single taken from Cassie’s self-titled debut. Already on the B-list at Radio 1, it follows the success of her hypnotic single, ‘Me & U’, which stormed into the UK charts at number 6. This second single showcases a confident Cassie rap-singing over a rhythmic, infectious bass-line. Her sassy and confident lyrics instructing prospective males to step up their game: “I love it when they try to get scandalous /Even though they know they really can't handle it /(They can't handle it?) They can't handle it /Try and take me out to dinner I cancel it”.
‘Long Way 2 Go’ is already popular, partly owing to the online competition Cassie launched in which fans record themselves lip-synching to the single and upload to YouTube tagged as ‘cassiecontest’, while Cassie posts her favourite clips each day on her famously popular MySpace profile - which has well over 10,000,0000 views and over 24,000,000 song plays.
