Syriana Style
Despite complaining about the war being like, so 2004 Braintax’ Syriana Style refuses to go away. Released at the end of last year it continues to turn heads in the most unexpected places from BBC 2’s Daily Politics Show to The New Statesman and The Socialist Worker.
Over a mish mash of grainy images showing everything from burning flags to soldiers kicking down doors in Iraq Braintax launches an attack on Blush, Blair and bullshit in general. Its easy to get carried away trying to explain why he deserves his place at the top of the hip hop world but lines like, “I’m still amazed that we still get loved when we’re punching the world with American gloves,” should make it clear. “Tell you why I don't wave the flag: cos we're arrogant enough no need to brag. Got a base in the Falklands, base in Kuwait, base in Korea cos we're friends with the States,” is another good example.
Braintax raps over a chilling wild west style backing track and makes ample use of Bollywood and middle eastern beats. it’s a track with a message but most of it all its just a damn good track.
Its taken from his Panorama album on Low Life Records and you can out the video for yourself here.
