Big brown eyes, big wide smiles, face of an angel some might say. But in this case I can honestly say that this girls model looks don't even come close to the vocal powers that she boasts.
, British R&B's latest starlet has set her debut album, cleverly titled, Untitled, loose on the world.
I have become dismissive of much of these new R&B artists throwing themselves at me from all directions, but I'm barely past track 3 on her album and I am fully hooked!
Ms Walkers enchanting voice captivates her listeners, leaving them questioning how a young woman from inner city London matches the talent of ‘larger than life' divas who've stormed the UK and American charts in the past.
Her 14 track album is supreme, each one hitting a different subject with a different style, giving you a different, new and further warm feeling about this beautiful voice.
The lyrics are human, easy to relate to and I think this could be a big motivation for people to avoid ever putting this CD down!
In almost a story fashion, the tracks are laid out cleverly, bringing the listener from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other. It is real. Beginning with ‘Love Fool', a typical mix of the emotions of a woman finally coming to terms with the realization that we don't need these scumbags who like to call themselves men!
The gut of the album mixes souly R&B with harder cuts featuring a phenomenal appearance from Mos Def, just allowing for more and more perfection.
The final track, ‘Brand New Day' pretty much speaks for itself. And I'd happily say it is a bright, brand new and sunny day for , I just hope she gets the recognition she so clearly deserves.
