Stephan Haeri, Fabrice Dumint and Christopher Hetier, or Telepopmusik as they’re collectively known as, follow up their 2001 debut album Genetic world with Angel Milk. The French trio had been busying themselves with solo projects, but rejoice as they unleash their epic second album.
Joined by their regular singer Angela McCluskey and ex Earthling rapper Mau, as well as newbie Deborah Anderson Telepopmusik produced a collection of dream-like atmospheric songs. Tunes so easy to listen to you may find yourself suddenly drifting away without realising it. In fact you may find it a chore to stay awake. While you may find the odd moments mesmerising, like the jazz influenced Into everything there’s not enough excitement or variation to make this worth more than the one half hearted listen. If you’re a fan of the post clubbing chill out stuff then this is for you, but there’s very little on offer if you don’t.
