Funky, rhythmic, hardcore, unique. Colour Climax release there album 'Pump It Up' and what an album at that. I see huge potential from this Coventry based duo, consisting of producer Paul Toller and keyboard player Steve Ashby.
Paul Toller first broke into the music scene as one time member of UK Hip Hop outfit 'Unanimous Decision'. Primarily Colour Climax had started playing as a four piece band playing around the city of Coventry, and other various 'Breaking Bread' events, succesfully putting together 'She Took My Love', but as two members moved away it seemed potentially unachievable for the band to ever have a release of there own album, However after a years break from recording Paul Toller began his journey on Colour Climax yet again ultimately resulting in the release of the funky beats "Disque O Heights" and "Pa Coco Solo".#
By spring 2007 Colour Climax's record company 'Breaking Bread' came to realise that an album was fully acomplishable, with one piece to the puzzle missing, a vocalist. After the departure of vocals after 'She Took My Love' was recorded it became clear that maybe this was exactly what was missing, and the search for a edgy vocalist was on track.
In conclusion to a somewhat exhausing and soul breaking search, a soloution started to blossom with Nana K - a vocalist, living just around the corner in one of coventry's less inviting suburbs.
After a while in the recording studio, it became clear that Midland band Colour Climax were going somwhere with new single "You Got What You Wanted" recorded and the rest of the album put together, Colour Climax's dream of becoming a unique and recognisable funk band became a reality!
