It was bound to happen, the renaissance is upon us. And at the forefront of this necessary forward in British culture are . I was wondering when this century's answer to The Clash was going to arrive and here they are.
Their new single "Week in, Week Out" takes a swipe at the shallow culture of today's Britain. A sneer at the celebrity hero worship and the superficial desires that is prevalent in today's society.
The track is fast paced and punchy, young and full of energy, reminding oldies of better times without pushing them away because influences are clearly mobilised in their music. It's a good track but they probably will do better.
Preston - lead singer, (I have to admit is hot and looks kind of wild, sharp intake of breath) William J Brown - guitar and vocals, James Gregory - bass guitar and Charlie Stanley - drums. All suitably attituded up with dark and quiet coolness, proper icy cool stares too. There's something so refreshing about this British band, maybe it's because they look like they could have come from a West London housing estate of the late seventies or an East London Estate of the Sixties, the look that so many other bands would love to espouse. They make me wonder if we can look forward to some hell raising of the like circa The Who and The Rolling Stones? It's about time.
