This Glasgow
all girl outfit have had a busy year plugging their raw if somewhat simple form
of rock. The strong point is by far Tippi’s edgy and powerful voice, greatly reminiscent
of PJ Harvey, which is tragically projected across a very uninspiring tune. It
sounds more like those cheeky teenage punksters ‘The Subway’s’ with each
listen, and unfortunately I doubt there is room for another in this crowded
musical landscape. It’s a raucous plea for attention from an elusive object of
obsession, and the lyrics help to form an emotive an honest creation. It’s just
the simple cord structure, and lack of depth to the sound that makes very little
impression at all I’m sorry to report.
