'Three More Days' is the first full release to be taken for Lamontagne's second album 'Till The Sun Turns Black'. The opening bars recall those of 'Son of A Preacher Man' but that's where the comparisons end. Lamontagne's voice is somewhat of an acquired taste, personally I can't quite decide whether it comes across as emotion filled or just strained
The music is smooth, soulful and blusey but leaves you with the distinct feeling that to be fully appreciated you need to see it live. It was produced by Ethan Johns who has worked on both of Ray's albums and also leant his skills to Ryan Adams and The Kings of Leon.
The Bside to 'Three More Days' is Ray's take on The Band's 'In A Station', recorded live at The Union Chapel in 2006. Lamontagne will be touring the UK in October/November and hitting most of th major cities.
