“Just as you take my hand, just as you write my number down.” Not the customary opening lines to a Radiohead song but there the words are, in all their lustful glory. ‘Jigsaw Falling Into Place’ is a vivacious tale of how a night out on the pull develops. Again not very Radiohead but the Oxford trailblazers have gone all seductive on us with their latest album ‘In Rainbows.’ It’s a far cry from the introspective and sometimes uneasy harrowings that lurked in every corner of their previous album tracks but it’s still bold and full of atmosphere.
It’s exactly what it says on the tin and the Jangly guitar rhythms, throbbing baseline and lingering animal noises turns a binge drinking night out in Yates’ into a more sophisticated dreamy world of impulsion and desire.
