Following the success of the previous single ‘YOUNG ENOUGH NOT TO CARE’, the Circuits are aiming to pound the charts once again with the double A-sided single ‘CITY OF LIGHTS/BEFORE IT’S OVER’ on Try Science.
With the influences from the likes of Elvis Costello and New Wave, the Circuit represent music with a twist of Pop, punk and Indie production concluded with lyrical content that holds a concept of politics and life experiences. Formed in 2006 they have toured with the likes of Soundclash, Air Traffic and The Blood arm with one of the most memorable performances being in Paris.
Having previously hit a number 14 spot in the Indie Single Chart, the Circuits aim to continue the success with their current release. ‘CITY OF LIGHT’ is introduced with a ‘reggae’ type melody fused with an almost electronic clash of the guitar and drums mid flow which works really well with the concept of this song which highlights social being. ‘BEFORE IT’S OVER’ reflects a more personal image, with the repetitive lyrics of “must do better to become a better man”. Although it’s quite a simple song the energy from the deliverance of the lyrics along with the gradual up tempo beats from the drums, bass and guitar, it all works really well.
The Circuits are currently touring with Mooney Suzuki and are scheduled to support Nightmare Of You this month along with their own tour dates yet to be confirmed. Without concluding a busy agenda, the band will be releasing their forthcoming album ‘BRIGHT AS MIDNIGHT’ in 2008.
