Life Is Boring
Yes, Blur painted the picture perfectly in 1993 with ’Modern Life Is Rubbish’. Over fifthteen years later, and musicians are still juggling to define and figure out the blandness of our pitiful modern existence. How can we escape the rat race, does beauty exist anymore, is there any milk left in the fridge? In a vein not entirely different to The Enemy, Reverend and The Makers, Hard Fi et al, Cazals add their two pennies worth to the debate. A back drop of slow mo angular funk strains under the weight of a vocal so universally mediocre in content and delivery, Kate Nash begins to look revolutionary: “Your world is television.. Life is boring / You can’t stand getting up in the morning. What is the meaning of everything you believe in?” There is no hope here, perhaps have a look under the sofa?
