Music Reviews Artist: Broken DollsTitle: StrongerLabel: Southern Fried
‘Stronger’ is the debut single from Broken Dolls, the recent signings to Norman Cook’s label, Southern Fried Records. An easily forgetful melange of funky guitars and elctro pop, it’s attempts at a chorus, with the wise chanting of ‘If it don’t kill you it will make your stronger’ belongs trapped in the mid nineties. It could be the unimaginative melody, grappled in The Killer style soaring, that put it a decade too late. Or the annoying repetitive beat, set off by 80s synth work that digresses back even further. Who know’s? Certainly not worth listening to find out.
