Music Reviews Artist: Bad SandwichTitle: Get A GripLabel: TentaWebsite: http://www.myspace.com/badsandwichuk
Aside from consisting of four guys with some seriously cool names Bad Sandwich manage to make some pretty cool music too.
Bad Sandwich are Daddy Cool, Brother Funk Matt ‘Manyhands’ Lenihan and Quirky Brown - a punk funk outfit hailing from Brighton. Their attitude is punk and the music funk, with the occasional hard rock groove thrown in for good measure. Their sound is party music and the ‘Get A Grip’ preview comes ahead of forthcoming album ’ Negative Breaded Snack’ slated for a January ’08 release.
Brown’s vocal dexterity is demonstrated across the three promo tracks; he is warm and husky on ‘Tablets 4 Tissues’ quirky and chanting on ‘Get A Grip’, and adopts a fast paced story telling style on ‘Dark Squib’. ‘Get A Grip’ is stomping, guitar driven, sing a long funk/punk, ‘Tablets 4 Tissues’ spacey funk decorated with erratic guitar riffs and ‘dark Squib’ falls somewhere between the two.
Bad Sandwich are definitely one to watch.
