Being a television star doesn’t always guarantee chart success, but that didn’t stop 18-year old Yorkshire lass Natalia Keery-Fisher AKA from giving it a try. , who won a Radio 1 MC battle before landing her record contract, warns her listeners on this single that she’s not a nice girl who’s going to be in bed by ten.
And while it’s an admiral message, the song lacks the depth or edginess that will win over the hardcore. Lyrics such as ‘ride this beat like a surfer tide’ and ‘waiting for the bassline/speakers that can dry my hair’ are quirky enough to compete with the likes of Eminem, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. As for her vocal talents, she can certainly hold a tune no problems, but her MCing style may not be enough to up her fan base. It’s not an all together bad single, but one that will more likely catch the attention of those longing for the music of early Britney rather than serious fans of urban rhymes.

Words by: Helen Duong-Don’t Play Nice Wow - poptastic debut single from verbalicious! grabbed my attention straight away, it did. Catchy as hell, real sharp lyrics, lots of nice little changes - , big funky Michale Jackson-style beat - the kind he might play to kids just before the ...errr...oh, wait, the phones ringing, hang on. It was his lawyers...i cant say that. ok, good beats, funky beats, nice baseline. impressive! the kind of stuff i could see lots of people who hate the whole r'n'b girly poppy/rap/urban masssif scene actually liking (secretly, obviously...)
Apparently verbalicious is from Leeds. Nice place... and for once, I have to agree with the stuff her PR person has written -
