Proof is here. The art form known as the ‘girl group’ has evolved. Gone are the days where you need a scary, a posh or even a ginger in order to complete the group. So now we must get ready for the invasion of The Pussycat Dolls. The six strong pop army have been dominating the club scene with this cleverly constructed, yet egotistical hook that poses the question of “Don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me”, to which I think most men on the planet quietly, yet depressingly nod their heads in agreement.
‘Don’t Cha’ also enlists the help of bulked up rapper Busta Rhymes who adds little enjoyment for the pop fans, but helps give this track an ounce of credibility amongst the RnB audiences.
The dolls, who confess that “the whole pussycat doll thing is a movement, a concept, a thing unto itself”, are now working on their debut album. It is only once we have heard this that we can determine weather the felines are more than just a model line up or weather or not they are nothing more than pussycat dulls.
