With this being my first review I'm feeling quite excited as I hastily rip open the brown jiffy bag containing various promotional CDs and press release forms, choose one CD completely at random and practically throw myself into my CD player with it before fumbling for the play button.
Approximately six seconds - the length of the intro, if you can call it that - pass and already I know one thing for certain. The girlies will like this one. Images of young women gyrating in veils of cigarette smoke and dry ice, illuminated by converging shades of red and green lighting flash through my mind. I'm not known amongst my friends for a love of commercially aspiring, soft-core Bashy but I think my head might just have given an involuntary nod or two. I need to calm down!
Deep breath, and relax... Time to review. Its blend of energetic Ragga beats, vaguely Flamenco-esque guitar, female vocals and its typically self-indulgent 'Don't mess with me' message mean this track belongs on the dancefloor. Whilst the lyrical content of the track is somewhat predictable, and frankly boring, Don't Be Fooled isn't really the sort of track that lends itself towards lyrical analysis - It's all about getting people up and dancing, and that is something I'm certain this track will be very good at indeed.
