This summer is set to be a busy one for Paolo Nitrini what with a string of live appearance (including The Wireless Festival and T in The Park) and the release of both his first single ‘Last Request’ and his debut album ‘These Streets’. ‘Last Request’ is the kind of song that forms an ideal accompaniment to a lazy summer evening. The sound is a familiar one, yet it somehow manages to remain surprisingly refreshing. At times Nutini’s voice carries shades of James Blunt, although in a far less annoying way than man himself. Despite being only 19 the singer/song writer has led an eventful life. His move from hometown Paisley (Scotland) to London is clearly an experience that has had a marked impact on his life and this reflected throughout the album. Another driving force and source of motivation is the turbulent relationship which Nutini enjoys with his girlfriend, said to be the inspiration behind ‘Last Request’. Paolo signed to Atlantic shortly after his 18th birthday and ‘Last Request’ is set for a July 3rd release with his debut album following on July 17th. The album was produced by Ken Nelson of Coldplay/Gomez fame, and the influence of each on the album is clear. Release Date: 3rd July 2006
