It can be quite hard for to listen to music like this. It's the type of music is like
a dream where you're stopped at a fork in the road, there is a road that goes left
with swirls and purple fuzz and one that goes right with disco lights, and one
that goes right down the middle that has a yellow brick road. You look down the
yellow brick road and in the distance and Corinne Bailey Rae would be there, skipping down
it.
Listen to it and
tell me it doesn't remind you of a really smug adverts for a mobile phones (in
particular one named after a colour). But hey, she's our own twinkling little fairy tale star and she
keeps everyone in middle of the road land happy and off our
backs.
It is nice enough to
put on to make the little ones drop off to sleep at your parents while you go
out and have a good time, and good enough to pop down the shops and get
mummy-in-law the album for christmas.
