Your mum’s Carly Simon and your pop is James Taylor. They’re both musicians, famous musicians at that. So if you were in Ben Taylor’s shoes what would your career path be? Well here’s a clue, it’s one that involves recording and releasing an album, in Ben’s case it’s Another Run Around The Sun. It’s his second album, but the first to hit the shops here in Ol’ Blighty.
On first listen this could quite comfortably be lumped with any other sing songwriter whose instrument is the acoustic guitar, Blunt Morrison, Johnson etc. But in fairness Taylor does the type of voice you can listen to all day, very soothing, if a little coffee shop, and the album sounds very much like it was recorded with very little interference from modern technology.
