Featuring Natasha Khan’s ethereal, other-world vocals, Bat For Lashes release a new single, What’s A Girl To Do on June 25th 2007.
The multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Natasha has been acclaimed not only for her astounding vocal ability – she has been likened to Kate Bush and Bjork amongst others, but also for her grasp of composition and visual production. If you get the opportunity, check out the video for What's A Girl To Do, her third single from the popular and well-reviewed album Fur And Gold.
Her experimental side had seen her re-record the album version of the track and she has further transformed the sultry 60’s Pop infused break-up song into an even more twisted and dark slice of B-movie brilliance. The bizarre keyboard lines in the background enhance a sense of loss – the effect is quite chilling. There aren’t many singer/ songwriters around who successfully marry such a keen sense of production to their work, it stands out.
Bat for Lashes will be appearing at festival sites throughout the summer, most notably at Glastonbury on the John Peel Stage.
