After the obligatory acoustic tracks that everyone seems to be making nowadays, Alex McEwan has decided to give us something with a bit more oomph and attitude.
The opening chords almost sent me to sleep before an energetic band intervened with strong guitars, hard drums and the altogether rougher vocals from the Glaswegian. It has an edge and hook to it that so many new male vocalists don’t possess or even want to try and do.
Having said that, it does remind me of an early Alanis Morrisette track and it never had me wanting to frantically press replay, a good but not great effort.
