Who said British pop is dead? If the Spice Girls were still around ‘Lipstick’ is exactly the sort of single the feisty five would be releasing. In her bid to keep Girl Power alive Alesha, one third of now defunct Mis-teeq, urges all the ladies out there to stop bitching about each other and unite as she hollers “Why do you think every girl out there’s your enemy?” Her feisty vocals are complemented by a frantic electronica tinged beat provided by Anrdeas Bagge, famed for having leant his production skills to both J-Lo and Madonna.
Alesha is no stranger to chart success and if her forthcoming album ‘Fired Up’ can live up to the high expectations she has set for herself with ‘Lipstick’ we can expect a return to the success she once enjoyed with Mis-teeq.
