If Moby and Beck had a lovechild, he or she would produce music like this record. “Don’t Take My Sunshine Away” sounds like the anthem of the hippies of the new modern age. No technology, no road expansion and this music playing in the background of the environmentally friendly lodge. When you’re in the right mood, “Don’t Take My Sunshine Away” is beautiful, atmospheric, haunting and sketches an image of childlike wonder and glee across the face of the listener using charcoal and those tiny Crayola wax crayons. You’re first thought will be: “What planet are these guys on?” But you should look past that. “Ghost In The Sky”, the second of these three singles which act as harbingers for the full sound of the album, has a rock beat and sounds that wouldn’t be out of place on an Eagles record. The music is upbeat, hip and powerful enough to provide the soundtrack to even the shortest of driving trips. In fact, trips and tripping seems to be the order of the day. You can respond to this music by having an experience. The sound is light, airy and almost floats through the ear on the wind. Invigorating, exotic and quite possible loony, this record is a testament to the rule: “Must Try Something Different Today”. A gem from a genius. But take the opportunity to decide for yourself.
