Rays of sunshine make their way from the speakers and gently warm the temperature of whatever dower UK summer day it is by at least 10 degrees whilst this CD is playing.
Thoughts turn to football without shoes, dancing in the humidity, sinking a few cervesas and smiling the whole time. There are some serious Latino vibes that have been refined (or perhaps slaughtered depending on your lilt) and contemporised by this latest offering from the funkiest of the two Americas.
Mettle music's debut CD release is sultry and more flavoursome than an array of daiquiris. 'Salsa del Rios' (Rio Orchestra) 'No me digas nada' (Malena) and 'Monk among us' (Gecko Turner) are my picks for the best of the bunch but it has to be said, it's hard choosing a best as the whole Cd is great as a complete work.
Think Latin music with all its maracas, washboard scrapes, bongos, piano, beats and hip swaying rhythms and add contemporary production et voila! Keep your feet still if you can.
