2006 saw South London songsmith Jamie T notch up two top twenty singles and it’s about time that we had a full album from the fella. So here it is at last: Panic Prevention. If you thought Britain is fuelled by alcohol and ruled by behaviour worthy of an ASBO, then Mr T is about to prove you right.
It’s a world that’s undoubtedly familiar to those who’ve spent too much time at the pubs and downing more pints than is advisable. No crooner is he, but what you do get are lyrics that paint vivid scenes of British life from the point of the young. From the clubs and pubs of Salvador to the criminal behaviour in Back In The Game -it’s all depicted in glorious technicolour . The great gift Jamie has is not necessarily in the art of making music-although there are a few catchy tunes there –but in the art of story telling.
