Camille's recent appearance on Later With Jools Holland was
a little odd to say the least. Not being that familiar with the French singer's
work it's hard to appreciate the music when what you're watching is someone
singing and drawing all over their face. Stranger and stranger still... Don't
believe us? Check out her latest album Le Fil.
Her experimentalist style is certainly ‘interesting', for
want of a better word. Her unconventional approach invites comparisons to Icelandic
songstress Bjork -neither is known for their adherence to any musical rules and
for being a bit off the wall.
Ta Douleur is a quirky number and probably the most
accessible. Au Port is probably the one
most likely to test your patience with the vocals in particular being wearisome
to listen too.
