Award winning reggae artistSean Paul is to release his
new single, ‘Give It Up To Me’ featuring Keyshia Cole, through Atlantic
Records. The track is very catchy and is the track title to the cinematic beast
that is the movie ‘Step Up’.
‘Give It Up Me’ features on The Trinity album
alongside such hot collaborations as ‘Cry Baby Cry’ (Carlos Santana and Joss
Stone) and ‘Break It Off’ (Rihanna).The album is a follow up to the ground
breaking Dutty Rock which is currently nearing triple platinum status in Britain. On it’s release last year, The Trinity stormed into the UK album charts at number 11 and has since
notched up UK
sales of more than 20,000 copies to date.
The track is a very sexy single to a very sexy
movie. The featuring of Keyisha Cole is very welcome and a great idea. Her
voice is truly amazing and neutralises the track, which is important in reggae music.
Looking
back from this moment in 2006, it’s easy to forget that just a few years ago,
raw uncut Jamaican dancehall was still considered ‘underground’ music. However Sean
Paul flipped the script to all of
that with his landmark album and changed the game completely.
