Music Reviews Artist: Nizzle HizzleTitle: He Who Controls the SpiceLabel: Resiztance
For an unknown UK Hip-Hop producer this 10 track concept album is a stomper. Nizzle Hizzle has been around in the UK Hip-Hop scene since 1999.
Luton based he is an ex event and club promoter and he previously managed Phi-Life Cypher 2004-2006.
For this debut album he has worked with unknown East London MC's from a crew called DarkAngle.
The featured tracks on this album range from opening cut soul searching cut 'Isle of Perfection' to the avant-garde 'Pawnography' a track that features some of the most politically charged lyrics I have head since?
Throughout the set tracks such as 'Tempus' and 'Nuffin else matters' challenges listeners to consider the meaning of life and how and why we are all here. Other more conceptual tracks include - 'Riddle-me-this', 'Zion', & 'Voice of the Demon'. Torture Cell (Rated 18) is one of the best horror hip-hop tracks to emerge from the UK scene whilst another track as a bonus cut is the hilarious and catchy cut 'Taboo'.
As a package this album is probably one of the bravest albums I have heard from a UK Hip-Hop act. A solid 10 tracks that combines genuinely hot mcs with musical, downbeat, off the wall concepts - something that seems to be lacking from Hip-Hop these days - check for this album.
