This three track debut EP out on Universal Records is a really fresh taster of things to come from this Brixton based rapper. 'I Don't Go' is a little too busy at points, but showcases personality driven vocals that portray a frame of mind to the listener with ease. The production's atmospheric and the hook's very catchy.
The less conventional 'Around The Way' comes under the 'grime' pigeon hole if you're into your labels. The beat sounds like something straight out of a 1980's space invading video game and the rapping is tight and focused.
'Stay Off The Kane' concludes the release with a strong story telling lean. All in all, this is really promising stuff that demonstrates why we should be paying more attention to Marvin than the hundreds of other UK hiphop/Grime/Grindie (delete as you wish) hopefuls.
