When you think of a comeback single, you always imagine a beat driven track that focuses on the artist in question. Why would this be any different for ultimate diva ? It’s like that is the work of dwarf like producer Jermaine Dupri, who laces this with a neptunes-esque style beat. This shows Mariah moving further away from her ‘vision of love’ super ballads, and crashing right into an rnb/hip hop filed where her powerful vocals are best suited. There is no denying that is a sensational talent, and her forthcoming album, ‘the emancipation of mimi’ will either cement her legacy within the music industry or prove she really is a fish out of water. It’s like that is a safe attempt at an urban to pop crossover that will no doubt give Mariah yet another number one. The combination of honey-like vocals laced over a nostalgic beat allows us to appreciate her return….but for how long?
