Music Reviews Artist: Lethal BizzleTitle: Live At Middlesbrough
One thing that I have learnt, whilst living up at the North of England, is that London isn’t the only city, or place even, where you can enjoy the fruits of the underground. As shocked as I was to hear, Lethal B was taking his profound talents to Middlesbrough – an opportunity, which I’m sure you’d all agree, is not to be missed. The nincompoop who suggested that grime is dead needs to set his priorities straight. Judging by the crowd’s reaction, Northern revellers appreciate Lethal far better than their London counterparts – an experience you’ll very much appreciate when you see it in practice.
MC bookings abroad has shown us that grime is reaching the outskirts of its hometown, London. Not long before the spat of teenage killings in our nation’s capital was Lethal Bizzle’s ‘Pow’ banned by the trident group for being too violent. Both the genre and the artists faced high intervention from the police who, as part of an exclusive unison with Trident, composed a list of artists that tend to breed trouble. These artists soon felt the blow in terms of a downfall in bookings.
Finger pointing aside, Bizzle’s performance at an un-urban event and area (received healthy applause. He made his way on stage at 7 o’clock sharp. His performance was energetic and perfectly executed which left the crowd jumping up, down, up and back down again. Among the highlights were some delightful, yet hardcore tracks off of his new album ‘Back To Bizznezz’ and the underground smash, ‘Pow’. It’s one thing to hear him on CD, but a totally different experience to witness his talent at first hand. If you haven’t been to a Lethal B performance before, what are you doing reading this? Get your arse up and head for Ticketmaster.com!
