Reviews Hip Hop and RnB

Do you remember that random song by director Baz Luhrmann (Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge) that gave helpful advice about wearing sunscreen? Well, if not Lazy-B should jog your memory as he sits in his chair and makes random and ridiculously interesting observations about modern life.

Lazy-B is a character from another country that had the track "Underwear" picked up by Pete Tong and is making waves on the underground with a style described as Mylo’s music with Michael Moore narrative. It is so weird and captivating at the same time that although I can’t imagine anyone bumping to it in their convertible it’s hard to turn off. The observations and self-help style advice makes you want to hear more and it’s entertaining as well as being quite informative.

Here are some of the gems featured:

1) The average person laughs 13 times a day
2) 22% of the time a pizza will arrive faster than an ambulance in Great Britain
3) Charlie Chaplin once came third in a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest
4) Only one book has been printed in more copies than the Bible
the Ikea catalogue
5) Donald Duck was banned in Finland because he doesn’t wear pants
6) Originally a Danish guy invented the burglar alarm
unfortunately it was stolen
7) Be nice to nerds, chances are you’ll end up working for them
8) You don’t win silver, you lose gold
9) We are born naked, wet and hungry
things just get worse
10) Creativity is great but plagiarism is faster

Fantastic!

This is an album that has come from absolutely nowhere. Not a lot of people have heard of them but I can guarantee that will change! As much as it is an album out to "prove a point", it is a great album to just sit back and relax to. The music itself is soothing and repressing and allows the lyrics to just flow; leaving it up to you whether you listen to them or not. The "Facts of Life" track alone is enough to silence a full room whilst everybody listens to the lyrics (facts) the track has to offer, but at the same time drawing you into the track. Go to sleep with this on in the background and you will not only wake up wiser, but with the knowledge that everything, no matter how bad it seems, it great. One word - Enjoy!
