London Town

K-A! Turn from underground MC to a rising star rapper. Starting out from the East London Grime collective Nasty Crew where he was branded as one of the best MC’s next to others like Dizzee and Wiley, left due commencing his solo career. Boys and girls his first underground solo hit showed raw talent and has progressed to mainstream. Winning a 2005 MOBO for best newcomer, London hereo’s award from the London Mayor, Ken Livingston and was a nominated for a Brit last year.
P’s & Q’s was his debut single produced by Grime Producer Da’Vinche and followed was the album Home sweet home which was a banging success, that brought you “Typical me” a song for the raver’s to give a message to the bouncer’s at a club. Then another Da’vinche track “Brown eyes” and Mike Skinner “Nite nite”
Commercially he’s been away but underground from his first album he produced two mixtapes Beats & bars and Kano mixtape, where he’s freestyles on grime and rap beats, something the original listeners.
Similar to Home sweet home, London Town is based on where he is coming from and what is real. Personally Kano has the best flow in the Grime scene and he hasn’t lost it he certainly complements the beats, along with adding a rap edge and versatility. During the album you can recognise that he has so many influences from Hip-hop, Dancehall and Indie. Clearly he expresses his perspective of London issues from youth’s with guns to the pressures of life and even a track for the ladies! Some would compare him to Dizzee (which he is not) because of the similar style of music but Kano is widening his audiences and taking a different approach.
Appearances are JA Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel on a skippy beat and sounds wicked (nearly outdone Kano) called “Buss it up”. “Fighting the nation” sampled by reggae artist Junior Mervin – Police and thieves, is indeed the best track on the album, acoustic intro eases into strings and drums. It’s not so much the beat that makes it great, but the lyrics is deep where he expresses his views about what’s happening in the London! Quite a “Unity” quite like “Feel free” featuring Damon Albarn and choir.
“This is the girl” featuring a long time no hear or see artist who originally started in garage Mr Craig David! (And he is looking hot! Can’t wait for his album) is the token love song where he talks about how he is ready for love (Part.2 to Brown eyes)
“It’s K-A do I play N-O” is seriously doing big things!!! He has so much material to share and more to come as you should prepare to see a lot more of him.
This is the girl featuring Craig David and London Town album out in stores now!
