When it comes to actors/singers we’ve got the good (JLo), the bad (Russell Crowe) and the useless at both (Paris Hilton). It’s a modern day feat to unearth someone who is genuinely good a both and Mr Foxx is one of them.
Having already taken an unsuccessful stab at musical success in the early nineties when he was best known as a comedian on ‘In Living Colour’, Foxx is giving it another go after his Oscar brought him worldwide fame. It won’t be surprising if this one does better as he now has a bucket load of producing and rapping talent at his disposal including Kanye West and Twista. Though on this first single he has enlisted the help of someone who has also tasted Oscar success, as part of the ensemble cast in Best Picture Winner “Crash”, one of Atlanta’s finest, rapper Ludacris.
‘Unpredictable’ has a nice beat, a sing a long friendly chorus and Foxx’s voice contrasts perfectly with Ludacris’ Southern drawl. Unoriginal it may be but this first single is good enough to get the foundations needed for success on his other, better album tracks.
