It all happened at the Coronet Theatre in London SE1, on Wed 4TH June. If you missed it, shame on you.
This show had quite a line up and certainly lived up to expectations. Immortal Technique obviously has a loyal following who appreciate his musical style and lyrical content. Technique is a very intelligent and articulate rap artist with a worthwhile message. His use of the English/Spanish language is superb and of course I have to mention, boy can he spit. It was a great atmosphere in the club all night with brilliant supporting acts. The track that really got the club bouncing was ‘Tell me the truth’ from his Revolutionary Volume 2 Album. Technique really is one of the most gifted rappers out there at the moment, a true poet.
His sidekick Icon for me stole the show. What a talented rapper, who just seems to flow so neatly. He performed a freestyle segment using random articles passed to him from the crowd whilst blindfolded. He then incorporated these articles into his rhymes. A true test of a rapper, which he passed with flying colours. Absolutely great entertainment.
For those that love the U.K rap scene, well you were not let down. Skinny Man was also on top form. His energy on stage was fantastic not to mention infectious. He seemed to act out every sentence. He created a great vibe and certainly is one of the best hip-hop artists this country has produced.
D.J G.I. Joe pleased the crowd on the night. He certainly complimented the show. His scratching ability is phenomenal. He also managed to move, twist and turn as much as his records.
All in all a fantastic night out for the Hip-Hop fraternity. It was a diverse crowd that enjoyed a great show in good spirit. So big you all up...! If you missed it, you better look out for their next shows...
