Foreign beggars are a five-man crew comprised of rappers, a beat boxer and a producer. After winning a few ‘Lyric Pad Hip Hop Awards’ and supporting the likes of Public Enemy, Talib Kweli, De La Soul and Wu-Tang Clan, the profile of this talented group is definitely on the up.
“Stray Point Agenda” is the second release from the crew and is promised to be darker, edgier and have a more introspective tone than its predecessor. The lyrical content is interesting and makes a good change from the usual subjects rappers have been rehashing for years.
It’s hard to pick tracks that stand out as they all individually make an impact but the socially conscious ‘Slo-Speed’ and the Al Green sampled ‘Reelfire’ are a good place to start. Just like so many talented acts to come from our shores, Foreign Beggars are an exciting and intriguing prospect for the future.
