3 Feet Deep’ gets straight in there with dirty Hendrix styled stabbed guitars over a solid old school drum break. With the break nicely established and flowing we are left in the capable rhyming hands of rappers Abdominal and Canadian D-Sisive. Despite being Canadian, the linguistic trait ‘Aboot’ is thankfully never uttered once by D-Sisive.
This is a playful sounding track reminiscent of Ugly Ducklings’ output on their Journey to Anywhere album. The chorus interludes are nice with both rappers rhyming the same words in a follow the leader style creating an overall human delay. Lyrically it doesn’t take itself seriously (‘Snares and bass hits coming tighter than a Cher face lift’) making it an entertaining listen.
Musically, 3 Feet Deep doesn’t really stray too far from where it starts, but the rhyming is entertaining enough to carry the track. Don’t expect any miracles but its still makes for a good ol’ listen.
