Just as we thought Chingy couldn’t get any better, he hits us with this music juggernaut of an album dubbed ‘Hoodstar’. ‘Hoodstar’ is the follow-up from Chingy’s last album ‘Power Ballin’ yet is more mature and has a particular after math which makes it very appealing. The album has entered the BET charts (where it’s currently rotating in the top five of the “106th and Park” countdown.
The album contains that of two parts, the ‘Hood Side’ which is a more street-smart and crunk-heavy style. They are very hardcore jams and highlights, life in the ghetto in raw and real terms. The other side is the ‘Star Side’ which is a more laid back and party themed section. In terms of what is real, Chingy brings a superb sound to our shelves. His performances are very dynamic and with Jermaine Dupri, Tyrese and Fatman Scoop appearing on the album, it’s no surprise that ‘Hoodstar’ will be a worldwide sell out especially here in the UK. The album is also home to the lead single ‘Pullin’ me back” featuring Tyrese. Other guests include Three 6 Maffia and Chingy’s cousin Spiffy.
