Tupac Shakur, known for spending
hours on end in the studio creating nothing but hits, was killed in a gun
shooting ten years ago. Since then, many albums have been released to
commemorate his life and influence on music.
With yet another 2Pac complication
to hit our shelves, one can only wonder if the life of Tupac Shakur would ever
be forgotten. The album dubbed Pac’s Life, released ten years after his demise
memorises some of Tupac’s essential hits including Dear Mama (remix) and
Dumpin’. On the melancholic, resigned "Dumpin'," 'Pac trades hard-hitting
staccato rhymes with two of his most deft disciples, Papoose and Hussein Fatal,
who demonstrate, a decade later, just how much of an impact 2Pac has had on
today's hip-hop. The album, featuring the likes of T.I, Ashanti,
Chamillionaire and Papoose, is hardcore rap only with some exceptions. Track 2
(Pac’s Life) has a very mellow beat but sounds jumpy and very fresh.
Ashanti’s appearance on the album
also makes for pleasurable hearing but be warned! Most of the tracks such as
‘Untouchable’ and ‘Pac’s Life’ seem rushed and very
mediocre.
