Officially the nicest guys in hip hop, it should come as little
surprise that the LA quintet are more likely to rap about gun control
laws than 12 bore shot guns and semi automatics. 'Work It Out', is in a
sense, the embodiment of their good will, being a laconic, uplifting
ode to brotherhood and peace between the races. It also features a
guest vocal appearance from Dave Matthews.
So, cheesier than a weekend in a Gruyere dairy then, but while North
Korea tests its new nuclear technology, Sudan's in the grip of
genocide, and the world seems intent on burning every rainforest in
sight, what’s so wrong with a little peace, love and understanding?
But just when they risk going all Coldplay and right-on on us, Jurassic
5 have commissioned an hilarious spoof promo video of the US
government's foreign policy antics. Set to 'Work It Out's laid back
funk, it's heart warming stuff. "Go ahead lose yourself inside this
opportunity that we gonna make it right." On the strength of this, who
are we to argue?
