Music Reviews Artist: Stereo SushiTitle: Version 10Label: Hed Kandi
Hed Kandi’s sister label returns once again with a double CD excursion peppered with a few but not enough enjoyable additions. With it being unmixed (a good thing for all you CD DJ’s out there!) the compilation lacks much character that is needed on an unmixed house CD and this is exemplified by generic songs such as ‘In My Heart’ by Bobby and Steve and ‘My First Love’ by Syren. ‘What It’s Like’ by Joi Cardwell, the psychedelic horn-led ‘Dust’ by Recloose and the sultry ‘So Good Today’ by Ben Westbeech all hit the proverbial spot, but unfortunately there isn’t much else to get too excited about over this 2 disc journey. As soulful house CD’s go this rune of the mill effort definitely isn’t one that would stay in the CD collection for too long.
