Speechless is one of those house records that straddles the boundary of current and classic, holding the hand of its homosexual friend all the while. It’s a camp disco workout that has edgy strings where you might expect piano tinklings and a girly vocal capable of turning even the most masculine of men into a mincing, white wine spritzer drinking mess.
New track My Love is a much manlier affair – a slower paced electro number that reeks of trendy mullets and blazers worn with jeans but is pretty listenable all the same.
The timing of this release seems to be in accordance with the Miami Winter Music Conference where a lot of records in this style get their debut, but Speechless has been doing the rounds since August 2005 when it spent some time in the coveted Buzz chart. Looks like they’re having a stab at the hit parade. Provided they’ve got a video that includes semi-naked women prancing around in a badly choreographed routine, it’s safe to say they’ve got a hit on their hands.
