A Ministry of Sound CD being released is as predictable as rain in Scotland.
So I’d be lying if I said to expect something new and ground breaking however they have made a change in their choice of DJ.
Steve Angello is described to be the hottest name in dance music thanks to his remixes for the likes of Mylo and The Eurythmics as well as his now legendary club sets. Angello was introduced to the Athens club culture as a young boy and after honing his skills on the turntables, he got himself a residency in Stockholm. So to cut a long story short after several credits on various CD’s, Angello gets to front his own CD for the legendary London superclub.
I tried my best to be totally impartial when listening and reviewing this CD despite my hatred for House music. But unfortunately this compilation has done little to convince me that this genre only belongs in illegal warehouse raves circa 1995 as opposed to my living room. Each track lasts for about 7 minutes, repeats the same lyric constantly and has an unbelievably annoying beat that is wonderful if you’re planning on spending your evening at home with a migraine.
I’m sure that hardcore house fans will lap this compilation up – but I think the rest of us would only give it a spin to annoy the neighbours.
