Title: Club Nights - Live it
Label: GTV

Facebook!
Reviewed was a seven track promo of the 3 CD Club Nights – which in its entirety contains two CDs plus a mix CD by the Hoxton Whores, and is a follow-up to last years’ Club Nights.

The word here is ‘massive’ in all its contexts, both in size, number and dance floor terminology. This is a fast food gorging of ‘the hottest tracks’ as well the odd old favourite of the mainstream club scene. These are town centre anthems, six pint cocktail jug accompaniments, main room crowd-pleasers, easy wins and easy thumping beats – Stonebridge, Booty Luv, Bob Sinclar, Tiga, Tim Delux…..

The six track promo was actually not a bad length, being confronted by the whole set may be a bit much but than again the point of these compilations is not to dissect each track and work on it’s merits. What you see is what you get, this is about volume, length number of tracks. You are buying in bulk – think of this as the Tesco of dance music compilations as oppose the pricey deli.

Stand by for the true sound of summer 2007. The Sheilas are here and they’re bringing pure pop back to the UK charts with their sensational debut single, “(I’m So) Happy Happy (You’re Mine)”.

The Sheilas have teamed up with legendary producers SAW to record the biggest and best pop record of the year by far. SAW are back to their pop-gold best with a huge feel-good record that puts classic pop back onto the UK music scene with a thunderous bang…. think Steps meets The Supremes!

“(I’m So) Happy Happy (You’re Mine)” is a magical slice of out and out pop, featuring soaring vocals, classic lyrics, beautiful harmonies and a chorus so contagious you just won’t be able to get it out of your head. If you love pop music, you’ll love this song, and its accompanying dance routine that everyone across Europe will be learning this summer! People across the UK will already be familiar with The Sheilas from their appearances on the hugely successful and now legendary “Sheilas’ Wheels” car insurance adverts. The group comprises of Emma Robbins, Carly Romain and Cathi Ogden, three women now infamous for driving a bubblegum-coloured car and dressing in sparkly pink dresses with beehives to match.

In the last year The Sheilas have gone from TV adverts to performing their own Motown-esque gigs all over the country, building up a massive following at student and gay gigs in particular. The Shelia’s Wheels jingle has reached cult status with fans posting their own version of the track in their droves on YouTube. “We never expected in a million years this would happen,” Cathi says. “We had no idea people would react the way they did.” All three ladies have musical backgrounds – Carly went to drama school, Cathi sings and writes pop songs and Emma was in a jazz band. Now this loveable trio have set their sights on getting to the top of the charts with a little help from the UK’s most successful musical maestros SAW.

Stock Aitken Waterman reunited to promote their collection of greatest hits, the successful album “SAW Gold”. Now after much speculation and column inches, the dream team are back, and their first project is The Sheilas. SAW are without doubt one of the most successful pop writers and producers of all time. A glance down their list of awards gained tells its own story, with no other writers ever gaining the accolade of "Songwriter Of The Year" three years in a row. To date they have had over 200 Top 40 UK hits, including 13 UK No.1’s and 3 USA No.1s.

As Emma says, The Sheilas couldn’t be any more delighted about their first musical partnership: “Working with SAW is just a dream come true. We love pop music and you can’t get any better than working with the true kings of British pop.” Pete Waterman adds: “I know a Bonza deal when I see one!”

So there you have it. The Sheilas are here to save planet pop. You have been warned.
