released two of last year's biggest garage hits "True", and the summer hit "Complete", and now he's gearing up for his first release of 2004. "Take Control" features Angel Blu, star of "True", and CK, of "Soc It 2 Me" fame.
"Take Control" is in the same garage vein however added to the mix is a salsa infectious retaining an element of urban cool. "Take Control" is guaranteed to be a summer smash featuring on many a music compilation however the Latinised theme has been rinsed over the years. In a funny way it seems like I've heard the track a gazillion times, in fact I have, it has been on the Tia Lusso ads. This may materialise into being a positive thing for the song in terms of securing airplay and actual single sales as the song could quite easily be the soundtrack to any 18-30 year olds summer holiday. It almost sounds like Eurotrash, but this is an almost as the production is pretty tight and the additional remixes salvage the song from pop trash into the house/dance arena.
In sum "Take Control" will not rank up there as one of Jamie Williams' best tracks and certainly will not ascertain the credibility or kudos of True and Complete. Nonetheless it is a track, which is easy on the ears and will get you to shake those hips.
