Now there is something about this guy and names; the moniker Don Cash is uber cool in a 70s detective come porn star way, the tile Disco Wreck conjures up images of broken disco balls and terror on the dance floor and even the name of his record label Relish is far more imaginative than most. But does the music live up to the hype? In a word - yes.
The Canadian has been writing, producing and releasing songs through his Toronto based Stereo Eagle label since the turn of the century but this is his first proper release on Relish. Cash’s vocal style is somewhat of an acquired taste but backed by a stomping punk-funk beat it does the trick. The single is a mix of elctro rock n’ roll with a hint of rap. The release also includes a mix by Headman of the throw your hands in the air and dance like a maniac variety as well the slow-mo elctro-funk b-side Hey There.
Its out on Relish on April 30th.
