Evidence of ’s respected position in the field of genre-bending, dance-inducing musicians comes from the fact that the legendary Roots Manuva makes an appearance on Sound Mirrors along with emerging starlet and Bugz in the Attic collaborator Mpho Skeef and several others. However, this doesn’t detract from the disappointingly lacklustre and regressive sound of the album. Add to this some appallingly lame, politically-charged lyrical flow and the result, taken as a whole, is a pretty mediocre album. A crying shame.
