Bob O'Lean is the new offering by French duo . Not heard of them? Cyril Bodin and Greg Louis come from Paris and be jealous, both were raised in musical families. Get this, Cyril's mum was a model and step-father an artist. He saw Bob Dylan when he was three years old and was brought up on Patti Smith and the Rolling Stones, what chance could the guy have with that upbringing? By 17 he was Djing in 50 clubs all over Paris. His partner in crime was taught piano at the tender age of five years old.
The first single released on the 22nd March is called Bob O'Lean. Think of lovely warm disco house, the likes of the Daft Punk era, when everyone wished that parties never ended in the long hot summer. The club mix, will evoke this memory and is my preference. So Bob O'Lean, (who is he?) the focus of their forthcoming new album that's who. But it could just be a play on the English word "bobble," "this guy is losing his mind..." they tell us. They explain further "when you think you have everything, you become more reflective, and it's only then that you realise something crucial is missing."
A warning to us all, don't let it be missing from your collection.
3/5.
