While the Pigeon Detectives' songs work well enough in your bedroom or through your headphones as you pound the streets, the group make the most sense live. Their songs are relentlessly enjoyable; packed with energy, emotion and entertainment value, and – most importantly, within a genre notorious for on-stage moodiness – they really know how to put on a good show.

As if Coldplay, Keane and Snow Patrol weren't chucking enough emotive stadium-friendly soft rock at the world, here come Yorkshire-based Tiny Dancers to lob a little more. This song sounds as if it was written with the image of Chris Martin doing that annoying thing where he swings the light bulb round and round firmly at the front of their minds. Tiny Dancers can certainly produce some nice, roots-tinged pop folk – and their live shows are apparently extremely energetic and exciting – but 'Ashes And Diamonds' is just re-treading ground that has already been trodden to bits, and had more than its fair share of lightbulbs swung over it.
